The Social INclusion Group (SING)

The Social INclusion Group (SING) has been running for over 5 years and is an estabilished network of partner organisations who meet once a month to discuss developments in mental health and social care provision across St Helens.

The group has a strong emphasis on partnership working and is a great example of how organisations across many different sectors can come together to deliver on key health promoting outcomes in mental health and social care.

The group has a strong emphasis on health promotion principles and has developed and jointly funded health promotion projects such as the Positive Thoughts Campaign.

The group function is:

  • To build a network of key partner organisations across all sectors to promote mental health and social care issues.
  • To provide a forum for sharing information relating to local service provision as well as communicating changes in local health initiatives and national policy perspectives.
  • To support the implementation of the Halton & St Helens Mental Health Promotion and Social Inclusion Strategy 2007 and the Suicide Prevention Strategy and reporting to the Mental Health Partnership Board.
  • To carry out jointly funded health promotion activities and support existing health promoting projects across the borough.

If you would like to attend future meetings please contact Mark Swift - Health Improvement Specialist - Mental Health & Wellbeing on 01744 697433 or email markswift@sthelens.gov.uk
