Top Tips for a Flourishing 2008!
May’s Top Tip: Take a day trip
The Health Improvement Team in St Helens is offering a 'top tip' every month in 2008 to enhance your mental health and to help you to make this year a happy and healthy one.
May's top tip is: ‘Take a day trip'.
Getting out and about is good for your mental health.
Make time to visit places of interest and explore new surroundings with friends.
Visiting new places and seeing new sights will help to keep your mind active. Research shows that taking a day trip can improve your mental health.
Here are some examples of day trips:
· Visit a local museum with friends and family
· Go to an art gallery in your lunch break and see an exhibition
· Catch the bus to the seaside and walk along the seafront
· Take the kids to the park and have a picnic
· Go to the library to find out what events are taking place locally
