Top Tips for a Flourishing 2008!
June’s Top Tip: Contact an old friend
The Health Improvement Team in St Helens is offering a 'top tip' every month in 2008 to enhance your mental health and to help you to make this year a happy and healthy one.
June's top tip is: ‘Contact an old friend'.
Keeping in touch with friends is good for your mental health.
Being around friends and loved one’s helps us to feel valued, loved and supported.
Research shows that keeping in touch with friends and loved ones can improve your mental health.
Here are some ways of contacting an old friend:
· Send a letter or a card and show you are thinking of them
· Attend a school reunion or work reunion
· Meet up with friends for lunch
· Telephone or send a text message
· Remember to visit friends who may be frail and unable to get out and about.
