February's Top Tip: Do something fun!
The Health Improvement Team in St Helens is offering a 'top tip' every month in 2008 to enhance your mental health and to help you to make this year a happy and healthy one.
February's top tip is: 'do something fun'.
Having fun is really important.
Make time each week to do something you enjoy, something that will improve your mental and physical health and lift your spirits. Let your hair down and have fun!!!
Spending some of your time doing the things you enjoy is very important. Research shows that this is good for your overall sense of wellbeing.
Here are some ideas of fun activities you might like to try:
· Put on your favourite music and dance!
· Have a ‘kick about’ with mates at lunch times.
· Doing a spot of gardening at the weekends.
· Take time out to play - take the kids for a run around the park.
· Take up swimming classes; join a gym or fit club.
· Meet up with friends for a catch up in your local café.
